Scholarship Application Form

Eastern Arizona College offers various academic and donated scholarships. The application for EAC scholarships opens October 1 each academic year. New and returning full-time students may submit one (1) scholarship application per academic year. Academic scholarships are primarily awarded on the basis of academic excellence and/or financial need. New and returning full-time students may submit one (1) scholarship application per academic year.

These types of scholarships are primarily awarded based on criteria such as:

Academic excellence
Financial need
On-campus residence
Enrollment in a specific major
Other criteria designated by private donors

There are two (2) priority deadlines for submission of applications:

DECEMBER 31: Deadline for consideration of donated scholarships. (Students who apply by December 31 are also considered for institutionally-funded academic scholarships and have the greatest chance of being selected for one or both types of scholarship.)

MARCH 1: Deadline for consideration of institutionally-funded academic scholarships. Students must be admitted to Eastern Arizona College and submit a current FAFSA application for scholarship consideration.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

RECOMMENDATION LETTERS
Recommendation letters should be from an educational or professional acquaintance. The writers should describe your strengths, how they know you, and why you would be a deserving scholarship recipient. Sharing an impressive story about you is a good idea. If they know anything about your financial need for college, they may include a brief statement about what that know. Financial situations are usually personal and this information is not required on the reference letters.

Two letters of recommendation are required at the submission of this application. Letters can be uploaded in .pdf format.

PERSONAL ESSAY
A personal essay is required to be considered for scholarships. Essay instructions: Please describe yourself and explain why you want to go to college and attend EAC. List any activities, clubs, service projects, sports, church, or community organizations in which you have participated. Describe what you see yourself doing in 5 years. In 10 years. Describe how you plan to pay for college. Tell us a little more about your financial ability to pay for college. Financial situations are usually personal - only share as much information as you are comfortable.

OFFICIAL TRANCRIPTS
If you have graduated from high school and are a current EAC student, transcripts are not needed.

If you are a current high school student, a recent high school graduate without college experience, or a transfer student from another college: Please send an official transcript to: Eastern Arizona College; Attn: Admissions & Registration Office; 615 N Stadium Avenue; Thatcher, AZ 85552.

Official transcripts must be received directly from the high school or previous college. For questions regarding official transcripts, please contact the Admissions Office at 928-428-8270.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

High school and/or college GPA and EAC Student Identification Numbers are used to determine eligibility for scholarships provided by the Eastern Arizona College Foundation and Eastern Arizona College. This information will only be shared if permission is granted by the applicant.
